Intel Expected to Return to Using Unified Core Systems in the Future

For the past few years, especially since the launch of the 12th generation Alder Lake series of processor chips, Intel has shown the use of a hybrid core system that combines two different types of cores, Performance Cores and Efficiency Cores to separate the main tasks and background tasks that need to be done by a processor chip to make it more efficient in terms of speed and power consumption.

Through a new job listing that has been seen recently, Intel seems to be looking for engineers to fill vacancies in a new division called Unified Core. They are looking for CPU verification engineers (CPU Verification Engineer) who will be tasked with testing the stability and operation of the CPU that will be developed under this division.

This Unified Core division is quite interesting because so far, at least all the upcoming CPU series from Alder Lake, Raptor Lake, Meteor Lake, Lunar Lake, Panther Lake and Nova Lake all use a hybrid core system which has shown Intel is back to competing with companies like Apple, AMD, NVIDIA, Qualcomm and so on.

It is not yet known what Intel's purpose is in opening this new CPU development division, whether it is for consumer, professional, or data center processing components. It will also likely be several years before Intel makes any announcements about the products that this division will showcase.
