Disney will finally get another new CEO when interim CEO Bob Iger steps down in March 2026. He will be replaced by Josh D’Amaro, another veteran of the company, who is currently chairman of Disney Experiences.
Bob Iger takes over from previous CEO Bob Chapek, who held the position from 2020 to 2022. Iger is taking over the role on an interim basis while the search for a new successor is underway, and with this announcement, it appears that a successor has been found.
Josh D’Amaro is a 28-year Disney veteran, and is responsible for Disney Experiences, which includes theme parks, cruise ships, video game development studios and other consumer products.
Disney Experiences is Disney’s largest business unit, generating $36 billion in revenue last year, and is responsible for about 165,000 employees worldwide.
Meanwhile, The Walt Disney Company has also appointed Dana Walden, Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment, as President and Chief Creative Officer of The Walt Disney Company. She will report directly to Josh D’Amaro and be responsible for the company’s overall narrative and creative direction. Like Josh, this appointment will be effective March 18, 2026.
