Huawei and Oppo are reportedly set to use front cameras with quadruple sensors on their new devices. This trend has been gaining attention since the launch of the iPhone 17 series when the quadruple sensor used is capable of producing better selfies while being almost twice the size of a regular sensor.
According to a recent report by Digital Chat Station (DCS), both brands are testing a 1:1 sensor for selfie cameras. Huawei is expected to introduce the technology on a new mid-range device that focuses on camera capabilities, most likely through the Nova 16 series.
Meanwhile, Oppo is likely to use it on its flagship X series models starting with the Find X10, as the series is often a space for new technologies. DCS also added that Oppo's technology is expected to be better than what Apple currently offers.
