Official: SpaceX Acquires xAI

As previously reported, today SpaceX officially announced the acquisition of xAI, forming a company that covers aerospace exploration and artificial intelligence. This also brings the expertise of both companies under one entity, including rocket launches, artificial intelligence, social platforms, and satellite-based internet.

The combined company is targeted to be worth around $1.25 trillion, making it one of the most valuable companies in the world that is not publicly listed.

SpaceX was previously founded in 2002, and has launched various rockets under it, including operating nearly 10,000 satellites in space, and has nearly 9 million customers for its Starlink internet service. xAI was founded in 2023, as a competitor to OpenAI, and also acquired the social platform X in 2025, in addition to offering an AI-based chatbot called Grok.

By combining the companies, several new projects are expected to be explored, including the construction of data centers in space. Elon Musk also stated that they aim to see in two to three years, computing for generating artificial intelligence will be more efficient in space than on Earth – thus leading to various new innovations in the arena.

With this development, let's all look forward to Elon Musk's next move. Previously, it was also said that Tesla may also be merged with SpaceX.
