Another software has been buried by Adobe after they announced that they will end support for Adobe Animate starting March 1, 2026. The vector-based animation software that has been around for over 25 years is being terminated because, according to Adobe, in order to keep up with technological developments, new platforms and paradigms have emerged that can better meet user needs.
This sudden announcement received a negative reaction from Animate users because it has no other alternative on the market. The Flash-like keyframe animation system (which Adobe has also buried) makes the process of producing short animated videos easy and fast. Although Adobe says that Animate users can migrate to After Effects and Adobe Express, it is still not as easy as the system used by Animate.
For now, support for personal users will be discontinued on March 1, 2027 while enterprise users will be supported until March 1, 2029 to make it easier for them to transition to other software.
