Perplexity Doesn't Want to Continue with Ad Integration – Focusing More on Subscription Revenue



Perplexity has previously tried to integrate ads into their AI-generated services. However, it didn't seem to work, and now Perplexity seems to have canceled the plan. Instead, Perplexity will focus on offering subscriptions as usual, in addition to special features for enterprises through their platform.


Previously, in 2024, Perplexity had announced its intention to start integrating ads. However, it did not seem to achieve what it wanted. Perplexity also said that users do not really trust AI-generated answers when there are ads.


This partnership comes as OpenAI is seen wanting to focus on integrating ads into their services for users of free and low-priced plans. For now, only OpenAI is seen wanting to focus on integrating ads into the service, while others including Google are still not doing so.
