Toyota has been a bit slow in offering battery electric vehicles (BEV) compared to other companies because it is confident in its hybrid and ICE vehicle offerings. Yesterday, the Toyota C-HR 2026 was launched, which is now another Toyota vehicle that has transformed into an EV.
The Toyota C-HR 2026 comes with a dual motor that offers 338 horsepower (249 KW) with a 0-60 BSJ acceleration in 4.8 seconds. The 74.7 kWh battery included provides a travel range of up to 462 km using EPA standards. The battery supports DC fast charging, allowing it to be charged from 10-80% in 30 minutes.
The cabin is equipped with a 14″ screen for the infotainment system, a panoramic glass roof, and there is a built-in wireless charger. There is support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. For the driver, a secondary screen is included for displaying driving information. Unlike Tesla and other EV manufacturers, the 2026 C-HR cabin still features a variety of physical control buttons on the steering wheel and center console.
ADAS systems, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, blind spot detection and more are included as standard. The 2026 Toyota C-HR will go on sale next month with a starting price of $37,000 (~RM 145,000).
