The Apple AirPods Max 2 was launched today, the first update to the headphones launched in 2020. Previously, the Apple AirPods Max was only updated with a USB-C charging port. The AirPods Max 2 retains the original design of the ear cups made of aluminum and the ear cups are covered with mesh fabric.
These headphones are equipped with the same Apple H2 chip as the AirPods Pro 3 to provide 1.5 times better ANC noise cancellation capabilities than the original model. It still supports spatial audio, lossless audio, transparent mode and adaptive ANC mode. On a single charge, the AirPods Max 2 can work for up to 20 hours if ANC is activated. Lossless audio support is only via a USB-C cable connection.
Even though almost six years have passed, Apple still does not provide a closed storage case for the AirPods Max 2. Instead, it still uses the Smart Case as an exposed storage place and does not have any waterproof standards.
In Malaysia, AirPods Max 2 is priced at RM2299, which is cheaper than the RM2399 for the original AirPods Max. When it will go on sale in Malaysia has not yet been announced but it is offered in five color options: Blue, Purple, Midnight, Starlight and Orange. AirPods Max 2 buyers also receive a free 3-month Apple Music subscription.
