With fierce competition in the artificial intelligence arena, various companies are racing to gain a high number of active users. Most recently, Google is reportedly developing a Gemini app for macOS, allowing macOS users to access and use Gemini more easily and more often.
Today, other providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic, offer ChatGPT and Claude apps for macOS, respectively.
Gemini for macOS is also said to include a feature called “Desktop Intelligence”, allowing Gemini to see what you are looking at on the screen, and provide context-based answers for the task at hand.
At the moment, it is not known when Google will launch their offering. For your information, Apple has previously signed an agreement with Google to use Google’s models in powering Apple Intelligence and Siri.
