Huawei will launch two major products to the Malaysian market on March 12, 2026, namely the Huawei Mate 80 Pro and the FreeBuds Pro 5 earphones. After almost three years of hiatus, the Mate 80 Pro returns as a flagship phone with the promise of a more comprehensive user experience from various aspects.
The Huawei Mate 80 Pro comes with a 6.75-inch LTPO OLED screen paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The camera system consists of a 50MP main camera with an adjustable aperture of F1.4–F4.0 and OIS, a 40MP ultra-wide and a 48MP macro telephoto while the front camera is 13MP. It also uses a 5,750mAh battery that supports 100W fast charging and 80W wireless charging. In addition, this device is also equipped with an IP68/IP69 rating and runs EMUI 15.0.
In addition, Huawei will also introduce the FreeBuds Pro 5 on the same date. It comes with Dual-Engine AI Noise Cancellation technology with Ultra-linear dual-magnet driver to ensure stronger bass. It also supports lossless audio up to 2.3 Mbps via the L2HC 4.0 codec and offers HUAWEI SOUND Voice, Classical and Bass sound profiles.
Additional functions such as AI Mode cancellation, awareness mode, conversation awareness, adaptive volume and multiple EQ are provided for a more independent listening experience. This audio system is also equipped with dual DSP + DAC for more stable performance. In terms of battery, each earphone is equipped with a capacity of 60mAh while the charging pod is 537mAh.
Currently, Huawei has started opening early pre-orders for the Mate 80 Pro with a deposit of RM100. As an added attraction, they are also offering a 15% voucher rebate for audio products and free gifts worth up to RM2,115. Meanwhile, the FreeBuds Pro 5 is listed as 'notify me' for now.
