Although the Intel Core Ultra 300 “Panther Lake” processor series has just been announced, Intel seems to be preparing to introduce another new processor model under the series, namely the Intel Core Ultra X9 278H.
This processor chip is seen to come with the same specifications as the flagship Intel Core Ultra X7 368H model with 16 physical cores consisting of four Performance cores, eight Efficiency cores and four Low Power cores, only with a CPU speed as high as 5.0GHz compared to 5.1GHz on the flagship model.
Just like the Intel X9 and X7 chips, this chip will also house the latest Intel Arc B390 graphics processing chip, housing 12 Intel Xe3 graphics cores and coming with excellent gaming capabilities.
So far, it is not known why this processor model is being introduced. Memory support is also shown to be the same as the Intel Core Ultra X7 model, and the only identifiable difference is that it will not come with a vPro model for business-class laptops, making it specific to consumer-class laptops only.
