Through a collaboration between Meta and EssilorLuxottica, the Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses were launched. They quickly became the best-selling smart glasses on the market with Google, Samsung and Apple also expected to launch similar products in the near future.
However, all of these glasses are more aimed at consumers who want style. For those with nearsightedness (like me), the products sold don’t quite feel like they match prescription lenses.
Bloomberg is now reporting that Meta will finally launch two new smart glasses that will support prescription lenses. They use the names “Scriber” and “Blazer” and both have passed the FCC site. The document reveals that both will come in square and round frames to suit buyers’ styles.
Other information revealed is that the support for WiFi 6 and UNII‑4 allows for high-speed data transfer for live streaming. With it having passed the FCC, the launch date is definitely getting closer.
