NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 May Be Updated With 1GB of Additional Memory Soon

NVIDIA may have canceled the launch of its NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Super series of graphics cards, but several reports have said that the component manufacturer will still show off a new consumer graphics card, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 with 9GB of GDDR7 memory.

Surprisingly, this graphics card is not a new product either. The GeForce RTX 5050 has been launched before and houses 2560 CUDA cores built in, using 8GB of GDDR7 memory at a speed of 20Gbps. This “update” will reportedly pack 9GB of GDDR7 memory at a faster speed of 28Gbps, while other specifications will remain the same.

With a graphics card like this, the use of faster memory is expected to help stabilize the frame rates produced and displayed, but is not expected to show any other improvements.

If launched, this graphics card is expected to be useful for those who want to build a media center or living room computer that can be used for simple gaming purposes or playing high-resolution digital media.

As mentioned, the graphics card is expected to be announced at Computex Taipei in June. Whether they will announce other consumer products is unknown at this time.
