Pop Mart Sues Labubu 3D Printing File Sharing Platform

The Labubu doll fever has subsided in Malaysia. During its peak, Labubu became an accessory that was carried everywhere with rarely found characters resold at high prices. Because it uses the blind box concept, Labubu sales brought high profits to its manufacturer Pop Mart.

In China, Pop Mart filed a lawsuit against Bambu Lab because their Maker World platform allegedly allowed the sharing of Labubu 3D printing files. This, Pop Mart said, caused losses because Labubu can now be printed at home using Bambu Lab's machine.

After the lawsuit was filed, all Labubu 3D printing files were deleted from Maker World. Maker World users who uploaded 3D files received notifications that they were deleted because they were found to be infringing on the rights of intellectual property holders. However, the case is still being heard in Shenzhen next month.
