Qualcomm launched Snapdragon Wear Elite, a next-generation wearable platform focused on personal artificial intelligence (AI). With the Snapdragon Wear Elite chip, devices such as smart watches, pins and necklaces will be powered by a built-in AI system.
In terms of performance, Snapdragon Wear Elite offers a 5X increase in CPU power, and a 7X increase in GPU power compared to Snapdragon W5+ Gen 2. It also allows devices to last 30% longer and charge up to 50% in just 10 minutes. The built-in NPU is powerful enough to run AI models with billions of parameters built into the device.
Tidal doesn't stop there, it also supports the 5G RedCap network that reduces battery consumption, Micro‑Power Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth 6.0, UWB, GNSS and NB-NTN which also allows connectivity to the internet for two-way messaging.
So far, Google, Motorola and Samsung have confirmed that they will use the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform. In fact, Samsung says the Snapdragon Wear Elite will be used in their latest watches this year.
