At MWC Barcelona, Qualcomm took the opportunity to launch its new Snapdragon Wear Elite chip but also the new Qualcomm X105 modem that supports 5G Advanced networks. According to Qualcomm, this allows devices equipped with the Qualcomm X105 modem to support AI agent features over 5G networks faster.
The Qualcomm X105 also reduces power consumption by up to 30% while having a physical size that is 15% smaller than the previous generation modem. The four-frequency GNSS system allows for more accurate location tracking with up to 25% energy savings.
Satellite networks can also be used through NR-NTN support to make voice calls, send images, messages, videos and data when there is no cellular network. The Qualcomm X105 is the fifth generation 5G modem produced by Qualcomm since 2022.
