Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Starts Supporting Apple AirDrop Today

Samsung announced that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S26+ and Samsung Galaxy S26 will start supporting file transfers to Apple devices using the AirDrop protocol starting today.

A system update to enable cross-platform file transfers began to be provided to devices in the Korean market today before being expanded to Southeast Asia, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, and Taiwan. This feature was provided by Google only to the Pixel 10 series last year, with them confirming that it would be received by all Android devices by the end of 2026.

At the time of writing, the update has not yet been received by Galaxy S26 devices in Malaysia. The update is provided by Samsung through the Software Update settings on the device. After receiving it, owners only need to activate the file transfer feature to Apple devices through the device's Quick Share settings as shown in the image above.

Sending files to iPhone, iPad and macOS devices can be done by selecting Quick Share. The Quick Share menu will be able to see nearby Apple devices and the file will then be sent using the AirDrop protocol. We will update the article as soon as the Galaxy S26 series receives this update.
