Samsung is currently preparing to introduce its own AI glasses, joining the arena currently led by Meta. To make this happen, Samsung is ready to announce a partnership with Qualcomm and Google.
Recently, sharing this with CNBC, Samsung stated that their upcoming glasses will have a built-in camera, and be connected via a smartphone.
This also shows that the first Samsung glasses will rely on a connection via a smartphone for some processing, including to pull information and others. These first Samsung glasses may also not include any built-in display.
For now, Samsung has introduced their headset, called the Galaxy XR. It is offered in a few markets only, and is powered by the Android XR operating system. It is also possible that their smart glasses will also use a variation of the same operating system.
Samsung is seen aiming to introduce their glasses, at least for developers or the industry as early as this year.
