Sonova, which bought Sennheiser's consumer audio business in 2022, has now announced that it will be selling it. The decision comes as Sonova wants to return to its core business of hearing aids and cochlear implants.
The businesses it is looking to sell are headphones, earphones and soundbars. While it is currently looking for a new owner, Sennheiser insists that product development continues, customer service remains unchanged and warranties are still valid at this time.
Sonova acquired Sennheiser's consumer audio division in 2022 for €200 million, while the Sennheiser family retains ownership of the professional audio division. There is no word yet on who is interested in buying, but Samsung has recently acquired leading brands Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Polk and Marantz through its subsidiary Harman International.
