Sonos has announced two new speakers, the Sonos Play and Sonos Era 100 SL, as its latest products this year after a long hiatus.
The Sonos Play is a versatile portable speaker designed for both indoor and outdoor use. In terms of sound quality, it offers loud stereo audio with deep bass thanks to a combination of two tweeters and a midwoofer, while its battery can last up to 24 hours on a single charge.
In addition, the Sonos Play comes with an IP67 rating, making it dust and water resistant. It also supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for easy integration with other Sonos devices and streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music.
Its compact body combined with a detachable fabric handle allows users to take it anywhere easily. It can also be linked with any other Sonos product that users own.
The Sonos Era 100 SL comes with three Class-D Digital Amplifiers, two tweeters and a midwoofer for balanced audio production. However, Sonos chose to remove the built-in microphone on this model in order to emphasize a more authentic listening experience without any interference.
In addition, the Era 100 SL retains important features such as compatibility with the Sonos app, TruePlay support for acoustic music and Apple AirPlay 2. It can also be used as a Sonos surround speaker, paired in stereo with two units for more realistic sound separation or combined with other Sonos speakers in the home.
For those interested, the Sonos Play, which is offered at RM1,899 and the Sonos Era 100 SL at RM1,199, can be pre-ordered starting today via the official website tcacoustic.asia, Sonos Concept Store at The Starhill, Sonos Malaysia Official Store on Lazada, as well as selected official distributors. Both models will be available in Malaysia on 7 April 2026.
