President Donald Trump today accused Iran of using artificial intelligence (AI) as a weapon to spread disinformation. He also accused Western media of colluding with Iran to spread fake news generated by AI without providing evidence.
He cited a viral video incident in the media of the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier being attacked by a kamikaze boat, which was confirmed to be an attack on a tanker in Basra. Trump's latest complaint came a day after the FCC chairman threatened to revoke the licenses of US broadcasters that have been providing negative coverage of the US-Israeli attack on Iran over the past two weeks, which he accused of being unfair.
Trump's statement is a great hypocrisy because he has used AI several times to generate videos containing false information to attack his political enemies. Only Trump can use AI for false propaganda content and when it hits him in the nose, he is also the loudest whiner.
