Android 17 Beta 4 is now rolling out to eligible Pixel devices as it is the last beta scheduled before the full Android 17 release. A new feature introduced through Beta 4 is the RAM usage limit for apps based on the amount of RAM available on the device.
With RAM usage limits, system stability can be achieved, reducing memory leaks, preventing UI stutters, high battery usage, and resolving the issue of apps being forcefully closed in the background.
In addition, it resolves several issues in previous betas such as unresponsive devices when using accessibility mode, device freezing while typing, notifications not ringing, widgets failing to work, Bluetooth not turning on, and more.
Android 17 Beta 4 can be downloaded for Pixel 6 devices up to Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, and Android Emulator.
