There is a temperature sensor on the head of this 12V-2×6 cable for PCIe 5.1 GPUs. The milk defense system will automatically shut down the GPU when extreme temperatures are detected. The sensor is placed 30mm from the power connection to prevent it from mistakenly detecting heat from a hot GPU and not the hot temperature on the pins. It works plug and play without any additional configuration required.
