DJI Osmo Mobile 8P has been launched in China with several updates. It comes as a camera gimbal with a detachable display module that is magnetically attached and can be removed for remote shooting. This module also functions as a wireless remote control and is equipped with a control screen that displays the camera's view directly. Through the screen, users can select subjects to follow more easily and accurately.
In addition, it is equipped with a special control lever that can be moved freely without direction restrictions. This feature allows users to control the gimbal more easily, zoom smoothly and adjust the lighting as needed. Osmo Mobile 8P also comes with the smart feature Smart Follow 8.0 which offers a more stable subject tracking system even in crowded environments.
This gimbal also comes with Tracking Module 2 which is not only capable of tracking humans, but can also be used to track pets, as well as objects or vehicles. The module is also equipped with an additional lighting lamp with brightness and color temperature control that can be adjusted directly via the remote control.
The DJI Osmo Mobile 8P supports Apple DockKit with instant connection via NFC and Bluetooth. It also comes with built-in features such as an extension rod, tripod, additional lighting light, a battery that can last up to 10 hours and a USB-C port to charge your phone while recording. Additional functions such as hand gesture control, automatic camera movement and composition assistance are also provided to facilitate the user's recording experience.
The Osmo Mobile 8P is sold in China with three package options. The standard version is offered at a price of RMB 899 (~RM521). The AI-powered version that comes with Tracking Module 2 is priced at RMB 1,099 (~RM637). Meanwhile, the most complete package, the Vlog Combo which includes Tracking Module 2 and DJI Mic Mini 2, is sold at a price of RMB 1,299 (~RM753).
As of this writing, there has been no official announcement regarding pricing for the Malaysian market.
