Google Meet is now available in Apple CarPlay, allowing users to join meetings more safely while driving. This was announced by Google via its official blog yesterday.
With this update, users can access Google Meet directly from their car dashboard via Apple CarPlay. The way to use it is also quite simple where once the iPhone is connected to a vehicle that supports CarPlay, this application will automatically appear on the car display. From there, users can see a list of upcoming meetings and participate in audio-only calls without disturbing the driver.
It is worth noting that when users join a meeting via Google Meet in CarPlay, the camera will be turned off and the video display from other participants will not be visible. Users will only hear the audio and have access to audio input via the microphone. A version of Google Meet for Android Auto is also expected to arrive soon.
