PMKS and local brand sales at TikTok Shop continue to show very positive developments when they increased by more than 130% throughout Ramadan and Raya. This development was shared during the recent TikTok Shop Raya Celebration event, which was also attended by Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil and his deputy, Teo Nie Ching, along with entrepreneurs and industry partners.
According to TikTok, this increase was largely contributed by the RM20 million #JomLokal Booster Stimulus Package which is seen to help and have a great impact on local entrepreneurs. Through the package, more than 5,000 PMKS received commission fee exemptions while 14 training workshops were successfully organized to help more than 1,000 new sellers improve their skills. The session that introduced sellers with content creators also opened up opportunities for more than 1,000 content creators to collaborate in promoting #JomLokal products.
At the same time, TikTok Shop continues to strengthen the security aspects of the platform by investing nearly USD1 billion (~RM3.98 billion) globally to develop stronger technology and protection systems.
As a result of these efforts, more than 70 million product listing attempts that violated policies were successfully blocked between January and June 2025, with a proactive removal rate of over 99.5%. In addition, 1.4 million seller account applications were also rejected for not meeting security standards. In April 2025, TikTok Shop also launched the #ShopSafe campaign to help educate consumers about safer online shopping practices.
TikTok Shop's commitment to SMEs is also becoming more evident as they help entrepreneurs become more discoverable by consumers. Through the #JomLokal initiative, TikTok Shop continues to empower the digital participation of SMEs while supporting broader economic growth.
