SK Hynix, one of the world's largest memory component manufacturers, recently announced that they have begun producing LPDDR5X memory in the form of SOCAMM2 with a memory capacity of 192GB for AI data center use.
LPDDR5X memory is the same type of memory used in many smart devices and laptops today, but for this memory with the SOCAMM2 design, SK Hynix says that its production is specifically for AI data centers.
According to SK Hynix, the advantage of using memory in the SOCAMM2 design compared to traditional RDIMM memory designs for data center computer use is more efficient power consumption, as low as 75 percent.
Because of this, they also confirmed that this LPDDR5X memory is produced specifically for NVIDIA's Vera-Rubin artificial intelligence processing platform that will begin mass production in the middle of this year.
With this memory, it is seen that the AI platform will come with more efficient power consumption than other previous AI processing platforms and allow more AI processors to be used.
