Is artificial intelligence (AI) good for education? Limited data so far shows that the use of AI by students has a negative impact because it is used as a crutch to complete assignments and causes students to no longer be skilled in independent research.
However, in China, the use of AI in the education sector will still continue. Most recently, understanding AI will be included in the teacher qualification exam. Future teachers will need to understand and use AI as part of the process of obtaining teacher qualification certification.
In China's education plan, AI will be used to support the entire teaching process
such as task management, automatic grading, answering student questions, and AI-based tutoring. In addition, AI will assess teaching style and effectiveness to help teachers improve the quality of delivery.
Through this plan, China aims to build a comprehensive AI education system, covering all levels of schooling and higher education by 2030.
