YouTube’s Picture-in-Picture (PiP) Feature Now Available Without a Premium Subscription

The Picture-in-Picture (PiP) feature on YouTube is now rolling out to all users worldwide without requiring a YouTube Premium subscription over the next few months. The feature allows videos to play in a mini player that continues to work even when users exit the YouTube app.

Previously, the feature was only available to free users in the United States and Premium subscribers. Now, YouTube is expanding its reach globally. With this change, users outside the United States can also use it on Android and iOS devices without having to subscribe to a special paid plan for long-form non-music content.

To use the PiP feature, users simply need to play a video and then exit the app by swiping up or pressing the Home button. The video will continue to play in a small audio player that can be moved to any part of the screen.

If this feature is not working, users are advised to update the settings of the YouTube app or their device. In addition, PiP requires the iOS 15 operating system and above to ensure that it works properly.
