Acer Predator Helios 18 AI Shows Off Most Powerful Gaming Pairing in a Laptop

In conjunction with Computex Taipei next week, leading computing brand Acer has unveiled its most powerful gaming laptop offering yet with the Acer Predator Helios 18 AI.

Built specifically for gaming enthusiasts and eSports competitors who demand the highest performance, it is capable of providing desktop-level power in a laptop design. The Predator Helios 18 AI comes with an optional Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card for superior graphics and AI performance.

In addition to the powerful processor and graphics card combination, this laptop also supports a very large amount of memory and storage, up to 256GB of DDR5 memory and 6TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage. In terms of display offerings, the Predator Helios 18 AI houses an 18-inch Mini LED panel display with a WQUXGA (3840 x 2400) resolution and has a brightness value of up to 1000 nits in HDR mode.

One advantage of this Mini LED display is that it comes with a Dual Mode feature, which at 4K resolution, it comes with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, while at Full HD resolution, the refresh rate of this display can be increased to 240Hz.

Cooling the CPU and GPU components on this laptop are two Aeroblade 3D Gen6 cooling fans that come with 100 fan blades with a thickness of 0.05mm. Combined with a new cooling block and the use of metal liquid to dissipate heat from the components more efficiently, Acer says that this cooling system can circulate 20 percent more cool air more efficiently compared to plastic cooling fans on other brands.

In terms of I/O ports, the Predator Helios 18 AI comes with two of the latest Thunderbolt 5 ports and an HDMI 2.1 port, an SD card reader, and supports WiFi7 wireless and RJ-45 wired internet connections for internet connectivity that suits users' needs.

Acer says that the laptop will be launched in North America in August 2026, in the EMEA region in August 2026, and in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2026 at prices to be determined.
