Apple and Intel have now reportedly reached a mutual agreement, whereby Apple will use Intel facilities in the production of a number of chips that power Apple devices. Discussions between the two parties have been ongoing for over a year, and have now finally reached a mutual agreement.
The two parties have yet to issue a joint statement at this time.
According to many predictions, Apple is expected to use Intel to produce chips that power MacBooks and iPads first, before expanding it to iPhone chip production. This collaboration is expected to begin as early as 2027.
In addition to Intel, Apple is also reportedly considering collaborating with Samsung for chip production purposes. This will give Apple more options for production, compared to today which is completely dependent on TSMC.
