Often, every few months, e-commerce platform providers are seen increasing commission fees charged to sellers. After increasing commission fees a few months ago, Shopee has now once again announced an increase in commission rates for sellers, effective May 21, 2026.
Through this change, the maximum commission fee rate charged up to 16% previously, will be increased to a maximum of 17% for sellers. The fee charges charged vary by category, and only the electronics category will retain the charges as before.
For Shopee sellers, perhaps you can review the commission fee charges by the platform in question, and reorganize your strategy in marketing your products using the e-commerce platform.
