Huawei has launched two new smartwatches at an event in Bangkok a short while ago. Both come with a more modern design and offer various improvements in terms of performance, health features and user experience.
Like the previous model, the latest version, especially the Pro, uses a titanium alloy frame matched with a woven strap to provide a lighter and more comfortable feel. The watch body also still maintains a square shape with rounded sides and is equipped with a rotatable knob system and a dedicated button at the bottom.
The Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro comes with a 1.92″ AMOLED screen (480 x 480 pixels) with 2.5D Sapphire glass, a titanium alloy bezel, and an aluminum alloy and nano ceramic frame to provide a premium design. Interestingly, it is also able to detect early signs of diabetes risk through health studies developed specifically for early monitoring functions.
The watch is also equipped with dual-band satellite GPS with Sunflower Positioning technology, and offers more than 100 exercise modes including Free Diving, fitness functions such as Cycling Assistant and Golf Mode. It also supports ECG, sleep monitoring, sleep apnea, emotional health 2.0, arterial stiffness and HRV. In addition, it provides a mini workout mode with 30 exercises with cute panda animated icons, fall detection, and an enhanced golf mode with over 17,000 maps.
Not to be missed, this watch also offers exclusive apps for racket-based sports such as pickleball, badminton and tennis. Furthermore, it supports TNG QR payments, IP6X rating, and comes with 64GB internal storage and a 471mAh battery that can last up to 10 days. It is also compatible with iPhone and Android, making it a good all-rounder for active lifestyles.
Next, the basic version of the Huawei Watch Fit 5 comes with a 1.82-inch AMOLED screen with a brightness of up to 2500 nits. This model is equipped with most of the built-in sensors like the Pro version, but does not support ECG and Depth Sensor. In addition, it also does not offer the functions of early detection of diabetes risk, arterial stiffness, Freedive mode, Cycling Assistant, and Golf Mode as found in the Pro version.
However, this watch is designed for users who want a lighter device without additional features. It still has a microphone and speaker along with a built-in voice recorder to allow users to record ideas directly from their wrist. In terms of battery life, Huawei claims it can last up to 7 days with normal use or up to 10 days with light use.
