The first quarter of 2026 is over and Counterpoint Research has shared the data of the 10 best-selling smartphone models. Four of them are iPhones, five are Samsung Galaxy and one Redmi. Apple iPhone 17 is the best-selling model with a 6% market share.
This is followed by iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro and Samsung Galaxy A07 4G. The interesting data here is that not a single Samsung Galaxy S26 model makes it to this list. All Galaxy devices on the list are mid-range (A56) and entry-level (A17) devices. The only non-Samsung and non-Apple device is the Redmi A5 which is also an entry-level device.
Counterpoint's data is in line with Apple's financial announcement last week which said the iPhone 17 series is the best-selling iPhone in history. iPhone revenue in the last quarter increased by 22% compared to the same quarter in 2025. The big change in the camera bump made many people buy the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max because it can be seen that the devices purchased are the latest models.
The presence of the iPhone 16 on the list is also not surprising as it is one of the best-selling models of 2025 and it is now offered at a more affordable price. As previously reported, the iPhone Air is not on the list due to low reception not helped by the small battery and only one camera included.
