Brembo Starts Production of Fluid-Free Brake Systems

Two days ago we reported that Brembo will now start selling brake systems for MTB and eMTB bicycles. The expertise in producing F1 and MotoGP brake systems is also used on racing bicycles. Now they have announced that production of a fluid-free car brake system has begun and is ready for use by interested customers.

The Brembo Sensify brake system does not require brake fluid, hydraulic pipes and a physical connection between the pedals in the cabin and the vehicle's brakes. Instead, a fully electrical system is used to send the pedal pressure signal directly to the electric motor on the brake caliper. According to Brembo, because Sensify is an electronic system, the driver can enjoy a faster and more responsive braking process.

They also added that this brake-by-wire system is ready to be installed on existing vehicles and is compatible with the ADAS system that has already been developed. Production has begun because it will be used on vehicles manufactured by a leading automotive manufacturer that Brembo has not yet announced.

Without fluid, Sensify does not require frequent periodic maintenance, thus reducing costs for vehicle owners. Hydraulic brake systems are now declining due to the popularity of EVs using generative braking systems. In fact, the physical braking system on EVs is used so rarely that brake pads are replaced not because of wear but because of rust.
