One thing that cannot be done on Instagram at the moment is to re-edit Stories after they have been uploaded. If there is a mistake or the user wants to make changes, the only way is to delete and re-upload. Therefore, this situation is a bit of a constraint for users.
However, this situation is expected to change in the future because Instagram is currently developing a new feature that will allow users to re-edit Stories even after they have been uploaded. According to Alessandro Paluzzi's sharing on the X platform, every time an edit is made, the original version will be deleted. All feedback such as likes, comments and reactions will be reset. In other words, each edit is considered a new upload and not just a minor change to the original version.
However, what is still unknown is how long the period will be given to re-edit the Stories. In addition, it is still not certain whether the edited Stories will be accompanied by the "edited" label or otherwise as can be seen in the ability to edit comments and chat messages.
It's not yet clear whether this feature will be offered free to all users or part of a paid package. Instagram is also testing a function to change the text type in chat, giving users more customization options.
