OCBC Bank Denies Reports That Their Customer Data Was Leaked to the Dark Web

This morning we reported that customer information of two banks in Malaysia, namely OCBC Bank and UOB Bank, was leaked by hackers to the dark web, which included email details, addresses, phone numbers and so on.

The hackers exposed the personal and business data of the banks’ customers, and so far, OCBC Bank has only just issued an official statement regarding the incident.

According to OCBC Bank, their Information Security Office, which is responsible for the security of their company and customer data, has investigated the leaked information, and found that all the data is fake, and is not their customer data.

In fact, the statement said that OCBC bank customer data is still safe and has not been hacked. However, OCBC’s data security team will continue to monitor the current situation to ensure that the customer and bank information remains safe.

For now, UOB Bank has not yet issued any official statement on this matter.
