Last week was not a good week for Samsung's TV business after they announced their withdrawal from the Chinese market. Then yesterday, pop star Dua Lipa filed a $15 million lawsuit against Samsung for using her image on TV boxes without permission or proper payment.
Dua Lipa's face can be seen on the side of TV boxes that have been sold since last year. Dua Lipa's representatives claim that they asked Samsung to stop using the singer's image but Samsung refused to comply.
The lawsuit claims that Samsung is profiting from the appearance that Dua Lipa is endorsing the product while at the same time the image used is of Dua Lipa and was taken in 2024.
