SpaceX and Cursor have previously announced a strategic partnership, which gave SpaceX an option to acquire Cursor at a value of up to $60 billion. Now, according to a Bloomberg report, it is said that SpaceX will pursue its intention to acquire Cursor within about 30 days after SpaceX's public listing.
Elon Musk is targeting a public listing of SpaceX around mid-June, and the acquisition of Cursor is expected to take place in July.
Cursor is one of the artificial intelligence-based solutions for programming, making it easier for users to develop web and applications. In addition to Cursor, several services also compete with its offerings, including OpenAI and Anthropic. However, for SpaceX, the acquisition of Cursor is expected to further strengthen their position and offering of artificial intelligence-based products, and may be able to match the new Grok Build.
