Xiaomi 17 Max Launched – 200MP Camera and 8000mAh Battery



The Xiaomi 17 Max was officially launched in China yesterday. This model is the fourth device in the Xiaomi 17 series and comes with the Max name indicating the better specification offering.


The device is equipped with a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,608 × 1200 pixels and supports a refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. In addition, the device is combined with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage.


In terms of cameras, the Xiaomi 17 Max combines a Leica camera system with a 200MP Samsung HP9 main sensor that comes with OIS (ƒ/1.65) and a dynamic range of up to 13.5EV. It is also equipped with a 50MP 3x telephoto camera that supports macro, a 50MP ultra-wide (17mm), and a 32MP selfie camera.


In addition, the device comes with an 8,000mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang Si/C battery that can last up to 1,600 charging cycles, which is more than four years of daily use. According to Xiaomi, this battery can be used for more than two days of normal use and maintains up to 80% capacity after 1,600 charging cycles.


When it needs to be recharged, it supports 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging while the 22.5W wired reverse charging function allows other devices to be charged as well. Not to mention, the Xiaomi 17 Max also offers IP68 and IP69 protection against dust and water, making it more rugged in various conditions.


The sales price in China starts at CNY 4,799 (approximately RM2,796) for the 12/256GB version and reaches CNY 5,799 (approximately RM3,379) for the 16/512GB version. At this time, it is still unknown whether it will be offered in Malaysia or not.
