Recently, Astro shares have been seen trading lower than in the past few years, in addition to the challenges of the environment that are not very good for it. And touching on this, MBSB Research analysts believe that Telekom Malaysia has the potential to gain greater value if it merges with Astro compared to mobile network providers.
TM already has access to various homes and residences through their internet service offerings. In fact, TM itself has an offering called Unifi TV which provides a number of content, including having the rights to broadcast the FIFA World Cup.
Astro already has expertise in the field of content, in addition to a large content library portfolio. Both are seen as complementing each other, thus facilitating the expansion of services and the addition of customers.
