Earlier this year, ASUS showed off the latest updates to their premium gaming laptop series, the ASUS ROG STRIX, including the STRIX Scar and STRIX G16 models with the latest Intel and NVIDIA components, and now, it will enter the Malaysian market.
Starting with the ASUS STRIX Scar 18, this laptop comes with the ROG Nebula Display screen, using a Mini LED panel that reaches a peak brightness of 1200 nits. The CPU used is an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX paired with a GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card, up to 64GB DDR5-6400 RAM, 2TB NVME SSD storage and a 90Wh battery.
The laptop is equipped with RGB lighting on the frame and also an AniMe Vision panel on the lid that can be programmed to display various patterns chosen by the user. The process of changing the RAM and SSD is also simplified through a quick access panel on the bottom that does not require any tools to open.
Meanwhile, the ASUS ROG STRIX G18 was also introduced to the local market, powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX processor, 16GB of DDR5 memory and 2TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage. In terms of graphics card offerings, the model sold in Malaysia comes with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card.
Another difference from the more premium model is that the ROG STRIX G18 uses an 18-inch IPS LCD panel with QHD+ resolution and a 300Hz refresh rate, suitable for those who only want powerful gaming performance and don't care much about other additional features.
Both laptops have started selling at the ASUS eStore Malaysia online store at the following prices:
ASUS ROG STRIX SCAR 18 – RM27,999
ASUS ROG STRIX G18 – RM14,999
Every purchase of these gaming laptops will also come with ROG Backpack accessories, a gaming mouse and a free three-month Microsoft PC Game Pass subscription.
