Streaming company and streaming hardware maker Roku will be acquired by Fox for $22 billion. With the acquisition, Fox now owns Fox’s sports streaming platform, Tubi, and The Roku Channel. According to Fox, they will have access to over 100 million Roku subscribers worldwide.
This makes it the third-largest streaming platform in the United States. Fox will use Roku to further grow its user base while also generating revenue using the Roku system.
Although the acquisition has been announced, it still requires approval from Fox and Roku shareholders. The acquisition is expected to close in Q1 2027
