Kamikaze Swaterbang Drones Used to Kill People in Ukraine

Kamikaze Swaterbang drones have been confirmed to have successfully killed people in an operation carried out in Ukraine two years ago. This was confirmed by Alexander Kokhanovskyy, a drone developer for the Ukrainian military, in a report by New Scientist.

In the test conducted between the towns of Bakhmut and Chasiv Yar, 10 quadrotor kamikaze Swaterbang drones were used in a front-line attack. They were only instructed to fly for about 10 minutes before Terminator mode was activated. In this mode, they will find their own targets to destroy without human intervention.

After the mission was completed, a drone was sent to observe the effects of the attack. Two Russian soldiers were found dead and a truck was destroyed, all three by kamikaze drones. Ukrainian representatives said it was the only test of kamikaze drones that has not been expanded to other battlefields.

The use of killer drones that carry out attacks without human control has been a topic of debate because it resembles the science fiction movie Terminator. At present, there is still no international agreement to prevent the use of autonomous drones as weapons of mass destruction. However, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has said that “there is no place for lethal autonomous weapons systems in the world”.
