PDRM Records 41 Cases of BTS Concert Ticket Fraud Causing Losses of Nearly RM100,000

Popular K-Pop group BTS will hold a concert in Kuala Lumpur on December 12 and 13. The demand for tickets is so high that many fans are willing to pay a large amount to get tickets through the secondary market.

However, the Royal Malaysian Police said that so far 41 cases of BTS concert ticket fraud have been recorded with losses reaching RM 95,974.81. Victims were offered fake tickets before the official sales began in the VIP, Soundcheck, and Priority Access categories that did not exist or were invalid.

Fans who did not want to miss watching BTS did not receive the promised tickets after payment was made. When they realized they had been scammed, the individuals selling the tickets could no longer be traced.

The PDRAM warned the public to only buy tickets through official channels or certified agents. Avoid buying from individuals on social media, especially those who claim to have inside access. First check your account number and phone number via the Semak Mule website/app before making a transaction. If you suspect you have been scammed, contact NSRC (997) immediately.
