Perodua today announced that they have further improved their electric vehicle production ecosystem, allowing them to produce a number of components locally, while at the same time reducing costs for it.
This has allowed Perodua to increase the production rate of electric vehicles to 500 units per month, while also allowing them to also reduce the selling price of the vehicle.
Through this change, their first electric car, the Perodua QV-E is now sold at RM69,999 with a monthly subscription of RM215 per month for 9 years for the battery. However, interestingly, users can now also buy it completely including the battery, for RM93,999.
In line with this move, Perodua is also offering a limited-time promotion until 30 September 2026, allowing consumers to purchase the QV-E at RM87,499 in full, or at RM63,499 with a battery subscription of RM215 per month for 9 years. The Perodua QV-E comes with a 52.5kW Lithium Iron Phosphate battery with a driving range of up to 445km (NEDC).
Perodua also stressed that for buyers who purchase the QV-E at full price, Perodua will offer to buy back the battery for disposal when the time comes.
Along with this price change, Perodua also stated that existing QV-E customers will be contacted and offered a special cashback. The battery subscription price will also be reduced from the previous RM275 to RM215 per month effective from the next payment date.
