Realme P4 Power Review – Just a Giant Battery?

Realme continues to strengthen their name in the mid-range smartphone market with this latest P Series. The Realme P4 Power comes with something very unusual, namely a 10,001mAH battery. But is the battery the only thing that makes the Realme P4 Power stand out? Continue reading this review article to learn more about the advantages and disadvantages of this device.

Design

From the outside, the Realme P4 Power looks like most mid-range devices on the market today. There are no design elements that stand out or make this device look interesting. Maybe the use of this orange color is the only thing that makes this device stand out more but with the abundance of orange devices now it continues to be something ordinary.

The back panel of the Realme P4 Power has a slightly different pattern on the camera module area. It has some writings like 'Dart' and 'Hyperimage+', for me this is not the most interesting design but it is better than just looking empty on the back. This back panel also uses the same plastic material as the frame.

What surprised me a bit about the Realme P4 Power is its thickness. Despite having a 10001mAH battery, this device doesn't feel too thick or heavy and in fact it looks the same as other devices out there with lower battery capacities. Holding the device in your hand also feels comfortable due to the use of a curved body.

The button layout looks the same as the Realme 16 Pro+ that I reviewed before. The bottom houses the speaker, sim slot and also the USB-C charging port. On the top, there is a second microphone and also an infrared sensor

Screen

To be honest, I don't have any bad comments about the screen on the Realme P4 Power. It uses a 6.8” AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, the brightness level can reach 6500nits which is quite impressive and coupled with a 144Hz refresh rate. For those of you who are fans of HDR content, this device also supports HDR10+. Based on these specifications, the screen on the Realme P4 Power is the same screen as the Realme 16 Pro+ which I have reviewed before.

So the experience of using this screen is also very similar in terms of color, sharpness and brightness level. You just need to know that the screen used is curved. So far, only Realme is still using a curved screen when other manufacturers have changed to a completely flat screen. For protection, it is equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i which is already quite good in its class.

Software – Realme UI 7

For software, the Realme P4 Power comes with Realme UI 7 based on Android 16. If you have ever used an OPPO or OnePlus device, I am sure you will not feel awkward using this Realme UI 7. The interface design on this Realme UI 7 looks very cheerful with colors bright, attractive icon designs and various customizations that can be made.

One thing I noticed is that Realme has added a glass design concept to Realme UI 7. This is not really too surprising or too 'wow' but it still looks neat and beautiful. In addition, as a gaming-focused device there are several features that can help you in games such as Aim Assist which will show you the target line in games like PUBG but for me it is not very effective.

Usually devices from China will have a lot of bloated applications available but on the Realme P4 Power the bloated applications available are not as many as I thought. However, the ads that suddenly appear from applications such as the App Market are still there and are quite annoying.

Realme says that the P4 Power will receive 3 Android version updates and security patches for 4 years. The software support is quite short but I feel it is appropriate for an affordable smartphone.

Performance

In terms of performance, the Realme P4 Power uses the Mediatek Dimensity 7400 Ultra chip. This is a fairly popular chip for mid-range devices. This chip is combined with the use of 12GB LPDDR4X memory with 256GB UFS3.1 storage. Its performance can be said to be sufficient for a device in its class, you can judge for yourself through the benchmark scores provided.

Playing games like MLBB or PUBG Mobile does not burden the phone even in the settings high. It can provide a good experience because all movements feel smooth and fast. Games that require graphics power like CarX Street can be played at high settings as well, but sometimes there are random micro lags.

What I noticed is that this device heats up quite quickly even though it has a vapor chamber cooling system. However, the good news is, it will not interfere with the performance of this device but will interfere with your experience during a game session only due to the hot body of the device. Overall, the Realme P4 Power can provide good performance in its class for gaming or normal daily use.

Camera

Perhaps this is the camera part where the Realme P4 Power lacks shine. Although it looks like it has three lenses on the back, only two of them work, namely the 50MP f/1.8 IMX886 main lens and the 8MP ultra-wide lens. From the camera specifications, it can be assumed that the Realme P4 Power does not focus too much on camera performance, but is it good enough for everyday use?

The image results from this main camera in conditions with sufficient light are quite good, but I noticed there are some conditions where the image looks a little soft. The color production is also very intense which is very synonymous with Realme devices. This lens also only has a 2x optical zoom that can be used and the image still looks good when zoomed in. For zooming more than that, I do not recommend it because it makes the image have a lot of noise and is not sharp.

The same thing is true for the ultra-wide lens, where during the day it is able to produce quite good images. However, due to the use of only 8MP, it does not provide very sharp images. Low-light areas also make the image results from this lens less satisfactory because they are not sharp and have clear noise.

Audio

For me, the audio from the Realme P4 Power is the biggest weakness of this device. For a device launched in 2026, it still uses a speaker with a mono configuration. This can be forgiven a little if the audio quality is pleasant to listen to but the audio production feels very empty and less dynamic. This speaker also has a volume level feature of up to 400% but it does not change the audio quality in any way except for the loud sound.

Battery

This is the real strength of the Realme P4 Power, which is the giant battery capacity of 10001 mAH. Honestly, I didn't think we had reached the era where smartphone batteries are the size of a powerbank. The battery life is very, very good, in fact, I myself am tired of draining the battery of this device. I can get 2 days of use with 8 hours of SOT per day, this includes using the camera, playing games and also watching movies.

To actually charge it is quite long compared to the standard battery capacity on the market. Charging from 20% to 80% takes almost 1 hour using the 80W SUPERVOOC charger. However, I don't take this matter too seriously because you will get a very long usage time with a full charge.

Conclusion

Realme P4 Power brings a rather big difference for devices in its class. It lies in the giant 10001mAH battery that is loaded in this device. However, Realme does not sacrifice several other parts such as a beautiful screen and performance that is still sufficient for daily use.

If you want to find a device that is really durable in terms of battery capacity, this is a choice that I highly recommend, but this is not a device for photography enthusiasts because it does not focus too much on a beautiful camera. In Malaysia, the Realme P4 Power is sold at RM 1999 a piece with 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage.
