In the middle of last year, the Malaysian government through the Ministry of Digital Malaysia and the company GovTech Malaysia introduced the MyGOV app, which is a one-stop app for various existing government digital services.
The MyGOV app is currently reported to be used by 2.2 million Malaysians to access 51 government services across 19 government agencies through a single platform, including MySejahtera, MyJPJ, PriceCatcher, Benefit Portal and also Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR).
Most recently, the government has also announced that ahead of the World Cup which will take place soon, the MyGOV app will also be one of the platforms for broadcasting the global football event.
Users who have registered with MyDigital ID will be able to watch live broadcasts using their respective mobile devices, via the MyGOV platform, in addition to existing broadcast platforms. Currently, a basic check of the MyGOV app does not show the broadcast feature being offered, but it is expected that the app will be updated closer to the World Cup date, which is on 11 June 2026 in just a week.
