Xbox Handheld Label Introduced for Games Playable on Windows Mobile PCs

If you own a Steam Deck gaming console, you must be familiar with the “Steam Verified” label that lists computer games that can be played on the console smoothly. Recently, Microsoft also seems to have introduced their own label, called “Xbox Handheld”, which indicates that the game is suitable for playing on the “Microsoft Xbox” mobile gaming console.

Interestingly, only one console so far is presented as an Xbox console, namely the ASUS ROG XBOX Ally X, although there are many other mobile gaming consoles that are presented using the Microsoft Windows 11 operating system such as the Lenovo Legion Go, MSI Claw 8 AI+ and others.

In the meantime, the Xbox Handheld label was shown on several newly announced computer games such as Gears of War: E-Day, Halo: Campaign Evolved and State of Decay 3. This label is also seen as something relatively new because it was not marketed during the recent XBOX Games Showcase game announcement event.

Microsoft is also developing their next-generation gaming console called Project Helix which will reportedly be able to run both Xbox and PC games, but so far the public expectation is that it will be a regular gaming console, and not a portable console like the Steam Deck or ROG Xbox Ally X.
