Robot technology is advancing with it now being able to run faster in marathons and 100 meters than humans. Humanoid robots have also begun to be used in factories to replace humans, complete with the ability to change their own batteries. Xiaomi is now showing a robot that can charge EVs when needed.
This robot is in the form of a box with a charging arm built into the end. When needed, this arm will come out of the box and charge the owner's EV. In the demo shown, the robot can charge itself when it detects a vehicle, unplug the charger when the battery reaches the desired level and can also be instructed to charge all of them via a smartphone app.
A CarNewsChina report says Xiaomi will launch this EV charging robot in China in Q4 2026 with the robot shown ready as a commercial product.
